ॐ The yogini in me...
I’ve been practising yoga since 2005 when I started Iyengar yoga at my local gym.
At the time I was looking for a great complement to
my keep-fit routine of dancing, swimming and running.
After a year or two I started to learn about the different styles of yoga and
joined some more classes to try them out. It wasn’t until I was attending three or
four classes a week that I realised how much I had grown to love yoga and had
really started to notice its benefits.
In 2008, while looking for a new dance class, I came across Dru Dance and signed
up for the next workshop with Joanna Bertzeletos at
I knew it was the perfect mix for me - yoga and dance! Since then I’ve enjoyed all
aspects of Dru Yoga and its flowing, powerful movements.
I signed up for yoga teacher training in 2011 and haven’t looked back since -
there’s so much to learn, practise and share!
ॐ The professional in me...
I qualified as a Dru Yoga Teacher after completing Dru’s 200-hour teacher training
programme, which is registered with Yoga Alliance and the Independent Yoga Network (UK).
The course provided me with a thorough grounding in the field of yoga with training in the safe
and effective teaching of traditional yoga asana, Dru Yoga sequences and Energy Block
Release sequences, Pranayama (breathing techniques),
deep relaxation, yoga philosophy and meditation.
I’m a registered Dru Yoga Teacher and a member of the Dru Professional Network
too. My learning stays up-to-date through Continuous Professional Development -
there really are so many different aspects to yoga so there is always something new to learn!
I qualified as a meditation teacher in August 2014 when I undertook Gateway’s
Accredited Diploma. The course was a practical and creative meditation teacher
training course, covering a range of mindfulness and meditation techniques. I keep this
knowledge up-to-date through my own practice and research and I’m currently enrolled
on Dru’s comprehensive home-study meditation course.
I am a qualified Pregnancy Yoga Teacher after studying with Janine Hurley through
a great course filled with theoretical as well as practical training from experienced
prenatal yoga teachers, midwives and other health professionals.
ॐ The rest of me...
When I'm not teaching or doing yoga I can usually be found dog walking, tap dancing, knitting or crocheting!
